Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Boost Your Website Traffic

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Boost Your Website Traffic

 by: Rory Canyon

Search engines bring more than 80 percent of the traffic for small to medium websites. This tells exactly how important it is for small and medium websites to optimize their web structure and pages for search engines. Optimization of your website for search engine includes many aspects: website content, keywords, URL, meta-tag, back links, etc. Let’s explain it one by one.

Select the right keywords. You can pay a visit to your competitors’ websites (only those with top-ranked search engine placements). Through analyzing their web contents and meta tags, you can easily find out the keywords they are using. Overture keywords selection tool can also provide you valuable information. Open your favorite browser, enter http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/, type in the search box your keywords or phrases and see how many times they were searched last month. Select those with high search frequency. Google also has a similar keyword selection tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox. You can have a try of both of them and balance the search results.

Target your web site content at selected keywords. After finalizing the keywords, you can now build up your web pages with them. But, be careful, don’t overuse any keywords on your web pages. Overuse of keywords may make search engine spiders think you are spamming and get your website banned. How can I judge overuse or not? Go to http://www.gorank.com/seotools/ to have a check of your keywords density, make sure it is within a reasonable range.

Make search engine friendly URLs. Although some of the search engines can follow all dynamic URLs, like http://www.scriptmenu.com/detail.php?id=25257, some of them still prefer static URLs ended with html, htm, etc. To make search engine friendly URLs, you can create real static pages, but you don’t have to. The web server URL rewrite engine can make this job much easier by reinterpreting the URLs before getting actual pages. If you need more help or tips on how to implement URL rewrite model, follow the link http://www.scriptmenu.com/detail_24379.html and get a tutorial.

Get quality backward links to your page. Although keywords optimization of your web pages can improve significantly your search engine placement, it is still far from sufficient to get your pages top ranked. You have to get some quality backward links to your websites. You need at least 35 quality back links to make google going to your web site and take a look at you. You can get these quality links by submitting your site to high-ranked web site directories or by writing some quality articles and then submitting them to the high-ranked online article archives. Many other ways exist, but remember, only backward links from quality web sites count. Websites poorly indexed or with very low search engine ranking have no value to you.

Keep on improving your website. By keyword optimization, URL optimization and quality backward URLs, your website should have gotten remarkable search engine placement. However, the placement is not static, you competitors are optimizing their websites and trying to kick you out of your current position. To maintain a good search engine ranking, you have to keep on improving your website. Keep on optimizing your website navigation, content and structure. Keep on getting more quality links from top-rated sites…. The battle for top search engine positions will never end. Good luck, :-)

3 Simple Steps To Internet Home Business Promotion

3 Simple Steps To Internet Home Business Promotion

 by: Joel Teo

Many internet home business owners are lost when they first start out building their internet home business and spend time purchasing bulk popunder traffic that does not really work for them. This article will highlight 3 simple steps that any internet home business owner can take to effectively promote any internet home business.

Registering your own domain

This simple point cannot be repeated enough. If you want to promote your internet home business, always use your own link. The reason for this is that people would see your own domain name as more professional rather than some unsightly company referral domain. In addition, should the company you are promoting close down, you can easily point your domain at a new domain and promote a new internet home business. Always register your own domain when purchasing advertising on other websites so that you do not need to have to contact the website owner should you decide to promote a different internet home business.

Article marketing

One of the best ways online to get people to visit your internet home business has been through article marketing. In one highly published experiment recently, one internet marketer showed how he achieved many people linking to his website through the use of an article submission software. The links that people put it linking to your website will be a permanent link which is always on their websites and its very much like online networking. Imagine many websites like salesman telling other website visitors about your products. The more salesman you have promoting your internet home business the money profits you will make online.

Pay Per Click

One of the best ways to send highly targeted online website traffic to your internet home business is pay per click advertising where search engine companies like Google and Yahoo place your ads near or into their search results. Thus this gives you very targeted traffic that can result in higher conversion ratios for you in your internet home business.

Make good use of these three quick tips in your internet home business and you will see more profits coming in. I would add that you should also spend time planning how you are going to use these ideas and write down how long and how much money you are willing to spend doing these things. Then, execute your plan and track your results. An internet home business can generate profits, provided promotion is done correctly, hopefully this article will point you in the right direction.

Four Simple Steps to Improve Your Sales Copy

Four Simple Steps to Improve Your Sales Copy

 by: David Bell

You know what its like, you’re reading the sales material about a product you’re considering buying, but, as you read, all these questions seem to pop into your mind, but there’s no-one there to answer them, so you shelve your plans to purchase.

If it happens to you, you can guarantee it also happens to your customers when they read your sales copy. So, what’s the answer?

You don’t have to practise mind-reading, just good-old fashioned common sense - here’s a four-step format to help you reassure your customers by answering those unasked questions:

1. “What’s in it for me?”

Paint a picture You already know it’s important to promote the major benefits of using your product in your opening copy, but don’t just list the benefits. Paint a picture so your readers can visualise themselves enjoying these benefits.

Not: “Save time and money with Acme widgets,” but, “Free! Four hours a week to read a book, walk along the beach and follow your dream when you use Acme widgets the quickest Widget on the market today.”

2. “How can you give me this?”

Explain why People aren’t silly, they’re not going to believe something just because you say it’s true. You must offer credible, logical reasons to support your claims.

“Acme widgets achieve faster results because we incorporate not one, but two gizmos. In controlled tests conducted by XYZ, our widgets consistently out-performed the competition in speed, accuracy and endurance.”

3. “Why should I believe you?”

Give reassurance. This is the time to give some details about you and your Company, provide information about your credentials, qualifications and experience in the field. Now you can also include brief testimonials from satisfied customers (provide as much information to identify the customers as they’re willing to allow anonymous testimonials are almost worthless).

4. “What if I don’t like it?”

Eliminate the risk. The final stumbling block is usually the fear of losing their money if they don’t like the product or find its not what they expected, so offer your customers an iron-clad guarantee.

It can be a full refund, a double /triple money back or whatever you feel you can afford. Always include a time factor - the longer the better - people like to know you’ll be around for the long-haul. Incorporate these answers in your sales copy to help turn your readers into buyers.

I hope this helps in your future marketing decisions.

Onpage Optimization: Essential for Effective Offpage Optimization

Onpage optimization is the process by which various elements on an individual web page are structured so that the web page can be found by the search engines for specific keyword(s) or keyword phrases.

Onpage optimization will not guarantee any top rating within a search engine, only offpage optimization can offer that guarantee. However, offpage optimization is far more effective WHEN onpage optimization is in place.

Banned By Google And Back Again

The date: 29th July 2005. The time: early morning. I got out of bed and fired up my PC. Opened my browser to check my site. Had a look at the third-party Google toolbar plugin (http://toolbar.google.com/) on said browser (FireFox). It showed grey.

Ice formed in my stomach. I opened my bugged version of Internet Explorer: my PageRank was 0. By now I was frantic. I went to http://www.google.com and typed in ’site:www.tigertom.com’: no pages listed. I did this for two other satellite sites of mine: ditto.

Dont Treat Your Business Like a Casino

It’s amazing how many people are jumping into the internet marketing business. The good news is that the pie is pretty unlimited so we can all get a nice slice. The bad news is that most of the people I encounter are thinking that they can buy some “miracle” product, sit around and money will show up.

The 3 Secrets of High Traffic Sites

It seems to be in vogue these days to downplay the importance of web traffic. It’s popular (and perfectly valid) to say things like: “Traffic is worthless if you don’t turn it into money.”
