Subconsciously Command Your Readers To Buy

Tell your readers what they are probably thinking, feeling or doing as they read your ad copy. This strategy will usually trigger their own subconscious mind to bring out these feelings or actions.

You can add these sentences into any ad copy. You may have to change one or two words so it relates more to the product or service you’re selling.

1. As you keep reading this ad copy, you are feeling more and more compelled to experience all the benefits of our product.

For Both Search Engines And Real Estate, Location Is Everything

It’s all about location, location, location!

In the past…back in the days when Google was IT when it came to natural search results…everyone was very focused (or shall we say obsessed?) on Google page rank.

Now that Google is a public company and the search business has become competitive (most notably due to the serious search capabilities now being offered by Yahoo and Microsoft, via MSN), Google has become much more “private” or secretive about things like page rank, backlinks, etc.

Internet Marketing Secrets Spiel

Wouldn’t you like to know all the Internet marketing “secrets” that have made me the man I am today?

I live in a house way too big for my beautiful wife and myself. We eat three square meals a day and can snack anytime we feel like it! We drive our luxurious Cavalier to the beach and swim anytime we want (when I’m not busy making money on the Internet and the beach is not closed because of E. coli levels or ice fishing).

Google, MSN and Yahoo Search

Google, MSN and Yahoo Search

 by: Andrew Seidel

To maximise your website traffic through the search engines you need to focus on the Big3!

What or who are the Big3? They are Google. MSN and Yahoo search. This article will take you through these three search engines and what you can expect from them in terms of achieving results both in a short term, as well as a long term basis.

As a search engine, Google still continues to dominate, with Yahoo and MSN the next two choices for people utilising the search market. While in general Google is a clear leader as first preference for internet users when trying to find something of interest on the internet, this is not necessarily in all categories. In some categories you will find the website traffic coming from MSN and Yahoo search is considerably more than Google.

So it is important when optimising your website to target not just Google but all of the Big3 (Google, MSN, and Yahoo).

Some of our websites have achieved top 10 rankings and first place positions for main keywords in MSN whereas Google can take up to 3 times as long by comparison.

While the Googlebot will pick up a new website quickly, usually only a business name will achieve high ranking quickly, not your main keywords. Often new websites listed in Google’s search results will not achieve high rankings for many months, and for very competitive key words six months plus. In saying that Google loves unique content; so for websites that are not in such a competitive market and providing something new and different, top 10 rankings can be achieved within a month or two.

Due to the amount of time it takes to achieve these ranking it is important that your website is always monitored and keywords are tracked on a regular basis to ensure you are keeping ahead of your competitors. Continual optimisation of your website may be necessary to ensure that not only do you achieve top rankings in the first place, but that you maintain them.

Note: Using a professional search engine marketing company like Quantum Web Solutions will benefit you considerably towards achieving these rankings. We also know various techniques that help drive traffic to your website much sooner.

The BIG3

Google Search : For those that monitor their website statistics (which is highly recommended if you want to ensure your website is doing well) you will notice that the Google spider can visit your website within as soon as a day of your website being launched for the first time. However, unless your website provides something new or unique, at this current time* it is highly unlikely you will achieve high rankings for anything other than your business name in a short period of time.

It is also possible there may be keywords that attain higher rankings, but if they are competitive keywords in a competitive market then this will be very unlikely. If you are offering a service or product that is new and/or unique, then you will certainly have more opportunity to achieve these high rankings as Google loves new content.

For very competitive markets you can look at up to six months plus to see your keywords bringing in the desired search engine traffic you are looking for. In these instances if you need to bring in traffic quickly, we suggest setting up a pay-per-click campaign. There are also other sources that can help bring in traffic to your site sooner than this, which we are able to provide as part of our services.

For new and/or unique website offerings, Google will give high rankings faster for a couple of reasons:

1. It is the opportunity to provide something new to the WWW.

2. There is less competition so there are not as many search results to compete against; therefore if your website is properly optimised achieving high rankings will be much easier and faster.

MSN Search : MSN is generally much faster in not only picking up a new website and listing it, but also if your website is properly optimised it is possible to achieve high rankings in the MSN search results in less than a month, even in markets that are relatively competitive. This is by no means guaranteed, but I have seen this happen on many occasions.

So while generally MSN search will not always bring you the same volume of traffic that Google search will; it does have the advantage over Google that in the short term it will drive more visitors to your website.

Yahoo Search : While Yahoo Search can bring a steady flow of traffic into your website; the challenge lies in being listed in the first place with them. I have seen websites picked up by the yahoo spider and listed within a month, but these are rare occasions. Normally it can take at least three months if not more for Yahoo to visit your website in the first place, no matter what techniques are used. Once Yahoo search picks a website up however, it does not take very long for a website to achieve good rankings and to start driving traffic to a website.

There are many different search engines out there, but many of them feed their results directly from one of the Big3. By focusing most of your search engine marketing efforts around these three, you are highly likely to see website traffic coming in from other search engines.

For anyone that is new to search engine marketing, the process of achieving high listings for your business may seem daunting. However with the right approach and focus it won’t be long before you see string results coming not just from the Big3 search engines, but many other sources on the web.

- As the Search Engine market is constantly evolving, so too are the way search engines list websites in their results.

The Art of Link Exchange

Before you start reading this article I must warn you - everything that was written here is my own experience in link exchange. This article should not be referred to as official advice or proven techniques. I only want to share the experience of the helpful methods I used.

When you started your website you probably knew that two major factors play the biggest role in search engine placement: links and content.

SEO: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

I seem to have created quite a stir, on a particular SEO forum recently. In fact, rumor has it, at one point, my article, “Google’s Trap, DMOZ’s Nap, And Yahoo!’s Crap” was the hottest topic discussed on this particular forum.

The aforementioned article was also bestowed the title of, “Worst SEO Article Ever” by someone on the forum.

Why all the animus? I have no idea. Perhaps they view me as a threat to their livelihood. Whatever the reason, certain SEO’s seem to be taking my articles personally. That’s their problem!

So You Want To Make Big Profits From Your AdWords PPC Campaigns?

So You Want To Make Big Profits From Your AdWords PPC Campaigns?

 by: Daniel Wandell

Everyone wants to make $300 a day or more with their AdWords campaigns. You’ve started a few campaigns, spent a few dollars, and now you’re wondering - “where’s the payoff!”

There’s no secret to AdWords success. Like anything, joining the big leagues of AdWords profits means you must put in the hours. In this case, it’s hours of keyword work.

Extensive Keyword Research

There are literally thousands of keywords for every industry. By advertising a thousand or more keywords you will greatly increase your chance of getting clicks at a cheaper rate.

Consider this:

Campaign A: Your AdWords campaign has only 4 keywords. These keywords are the most popular keywords for your industry. The average CPC is $1. These keywords get 6000 searches a day. Your campaign is getting a 2% CTR which means your getting $120 clicks at a total cost of $120.

Campaign B: You research and bid on 2000 keywords. The average CPC is .10 These 2000 keywords also receive 6000 search queries a day. Again using a 2% CTR, your campaign is delivering 120 visitors. But instead of paying $120 as in Campaign A, you are only paying $12.

Obviously, Campaign B is the better performing campaign. Campaign B is saving $108 a day, $3,600 a month and $43,200 per year. The difference in ROI is staggering.

Remember, the difference between the two campaigns was in the keywords. Campaign A had a few popular keywords. Campaign B contained 2000 keywords. The keywords in Campaign B are less popular, translating to a cheap CPC for you.

How To Find Keywords For Your PPC Campaigns

Now you know the importance of doing extensive keyword research before beginning an AdWords campaign. But how do you come up with a long list of targetted keywords. Here’s how:

The simplest and easiest method to come up with good keywords is to think long and hard. “Yeah, that’ll get me 50 words” you say.” Still need more keywords? Try these tools;

1. Google Keyword Generator (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordSandbox)

2. WordTracker (http://www.wordtracker.com)

3. Overture Search Suggestion Tool (http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/)

4. Keyword Wrapper (http://www.keyword-toolkit.com/keyword-wrapper/)

5. MyTrashMail Keyword Generator (http://www.mytrashmail.com/Keyword_Generator.aspx)

Happy keyword hunting. You can never have too many keywords. Just remember with each keyword you are increasing your ROI. And istn’t that what it’s all about?

How to Get the Ranking You Always Wanted!

How to Get the Ranking You Always Wanted!

 by: Matt Colyer

Is your web site well ranked (In the top ten search results) in the results? If not, you need to read this and get the ranking you always dreamed of getting with your web site! I will show you how to get your web site a top ten ranking in the search engines with these few easy-to-do steps.

Site Design - The web site’s structure will decide how the spiders read your web site and the speed of them indexing the web pages. There should be more text content then HTML content. You should avoid programs such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver. Such programs will add coding that isn’t necessary and also they may add coding errors. The pages should validate and be usable in all of todays leading browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, etc.). Also look at your web site in a text browser, this will give you good idea of what the spiders see and if it can work with a text browser, it can work with just about any other browser.

Stay away from using Java, Flash, Java script, scripting such as that can trap the spiders, which will result in them not to index your content. Go external with scripting languages if you need them that bad, use something such as CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Your web site should respond almost instantly to requests. If you get into 3 to 4 seconds delay until it loads, you need to cut down on the images and overall web page size. Keep the web page under 20k if at all possible, but keep it at least at 5k. Don’t use frames, neither the visitors nor the search engines like it and shouldn’t be used for any reason.

Content - Web pages should have 200 to 1500 words. Put your target keywords in bold, underline, heading and italics text. Spiders reads web pages top to bottom and they also know that the main keyword should appear in the first few sentences. Which means your targeted keywords should appear high on the page, within the first few words, also they should be in the middle and towards the end of the articles. The keyword density should be between 5 and 15%, but don’t lose sleep over it, just make sure you get a density of 5%.

Meta and Title Tags - Meta tags are thought by many SEO experts to have little impact, If any at all, but it’s still recommended, just in case it’s still a factor. The description tag is still sometimes used in the search engines as description of the web site, so try to be creative and describe your web page’s content and not just for the search engines, but for the visitors as well. Also remember not to use the same description tag for each web page, some search engines may think the page is too much like the other pages and end up banning you.

You should place your top keywords in keyword tag, keep it to 5 to 15, make sure your most important keyword appears first though. The title tag is very important part of the web page. Both the search engines and visitors will see this, so be smart and creative with it. Try to have your most important keyword to appear first and keep it short, there isn’t any need for 20 or 30 words to appear in the title tag.

Links - Look around your keyword sector in DMOZ or Yahoo!, you will find many web sites that are useful to your visitors and to your ranking. Try to exchange links with one web site a day. Almost every topic has an on-topic directory, go submit to them. Don’t forget DMOZ, Yahoo! or other big name directories. When you receive requests for link exchanges, check the site out before giving the OK. Check to see if they are using any spam techniques and make sure they are listed in the search engines. Also make sure it’s a web site similar to your web site’s topic.

One way backlinks are the best backlinks a web site can get because most reciprocal link exchanges are only for link popularity and search engines are aware of this growing problem. But they are hard to get, one way to get them is by buying them or an other is by writing articles and allowing others to use them on their own web site for content, along with a link back to your web site.

Insite Cross Links - Link to on topic content across your web site. If a web page is about games, then make sure it links to PS2 games and Xbox games web page. Web pages shouldn’t be no more then 3 clicks away from the home page. They should be close to the root as possible.

Submission - Once you have insured you have done all the above, you can submit to the search engines, such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN and Ask Jeeves. Really, if you get enough backlinks you won’t need to submit to any of them and instead they will find you. There is some debate that submitting to the search engines instead of letting them find you can hurt your ranking, so you may choose to sit back and let them find you. Also note, that by submitting will not speed it up any and in fact the fastest way to get in the index, is by getting backlinks.
