Five Reasons Why Good Content Is The Heart Of Every Site
by: Joel Osborne
Most probably, you have been using the Internet for many years now. Tell me, why do you visit the sites you frequent?
Certainly, the answers would be varied. Some of you would say that it’s because of the constantly updated news that those websites provide. Others would say that it’s because of the freebies that they give away. A few would say that it’s because of the high quality of service that those sites are capable of delivering on a consistent basis.
But there is a unifying factor to all of these reasons: your needs are answered by the good content in their respective pages.
Let’s face it, visiting a site that contains junk data would just be a waste of our time. As much as possible, we seek those websites that offer us the information we need. Whether they be information about a particular hobby of ours, or about innovative strategies to help promote our businesses, or even about some leads to help us meet someone from the opposite sex, we all desire the knowledge that a site could impart. And this knowledge can only be conveyed through good content.
Here are five reasons why high quality content is the heart of every website.
1.Good content fuels traffic. The rationale behind this is very simple. Original, premium content is what online users want, and if you could provide this, they would naturally come to your site. The Internet is called the information superhighway for a good reason. Information is what drives the World Wide Web, and being able to cater to this need would assure a generous volume of activity for your website.
2.Good content makes it easier for you to position your keywords. Keywords, of course, are what the search engine spiders will look for once a relevant query is made. The more keywords you have in your site, the better its chances are of prominently appearing in the search results. But in recent years, search engine robots have become more “intelligent.” They have learned how to distinguish between good content and a mere hodgepodge of words and phrases. If your content is junk, search engines would penalize you by assigning a lower page rank (PR) for your site.
3.Good content would help you a lot in branding yourself as well as your online business. Branding is a marketing tool that would aid you and your business in being associated with your particular area of operation. By speaking knowledgeably about particular topics through the substance of your website, you will be branding yourself as an expert in the field. Consequently, you will also be branding your business as a credible and reliable provider of goods or services relevant to the subject of your site.
4.Good content will guarantee repeat visitors. You don’t have to rely on new visitors alone. Your old visitors can come back, again and again and again if your content is excellent, more so if you’d update it regularly. Old visitors are doubly important if you’re trying to sell a product online. There is a maxim in Internet marketing that says: a lost visitor is a lost sale. You don’t have to lose those visitors if your content is of magnificent quality. They would become admirers of your work, and they would always come back to read what you have to say.
5.Good content would win for you the accolade and respect of those who get to view your pages. Sometimes, the best success has nothing to do with money. It could be the feeling of fulfillment about having gained the admiration of other people through your hard work and dedication that shows in the finished product.
Your content is what will define your website. Will your online presence sink or swim? The answer lies on how sturdy you have built your boat, and that boat is powered by the strength of your content.

2 Powerful Ways To Capitalize on Your Search Engine Traffic
by: Jean Lam
Many marketers know that search engine marketing is among one of the best methods to get visitors to their websites. It’s a profitable way to reach new subscribers and new customers.
But getting search engine traffic is only one of the first steps to the doorway of incoming success. While getting top search engine rankings will open the floodgates of targeted traffic, all this traffic is useless if your website visitors don’t take any action be it a subscription to your newsletter, a purchase of your products or your affiliate products or any other action.
To capitalize on your search engine traffic, you need to be able to convert those visits into at least one action. Of course, not all your visitors will do anything on your website apart reading any valuable content you might have or download any free stuff. This is also a good way to get repeat visitors which can lead to an action in the future.
Now is the time to concentrate on your website conversion strategies which will be very crucial for success. In fact this is the second most important aspect of Internet marketing after getting the initial traffic.
The formula is as follows:
=> Targeted Traffic: Good Conversion: Sales/Leads/Subscribers
Here are 2 powerful ways to capitalize on your search engine traffic:
(1) Your Website Design Layout
Website design which does not seem that important is extremely crucial to get success on the Internet.
Consider this, you visit a site which is very unprofessional with flashing graphics, poor navigation, slow loading time, getting you confused and gives you a feeling of mistrust. Your only action would be to click on the “Close” button at the top of your browser. Now this site has already lost a potential customer or subscriber.
Or you visit a professional site this time, but you don’t really know what to do on the site. The reason is that the person who has designed the site has not taken into consideration the visitors like what he or she wants them to do once they arrive on their homepage or any other pages. Each page on your site must have an objective.
So one of the things that you need to do is to ensure that your site is as professional as can be ie has a friendly navigation menu, fast loading and avoid unnecessary graphics where possible.
The other thing is you need to know beforehand what you want your visitors to do once they arrive on your professional site. When the traffic comes, the best strategy now is to tweak your conversion and make testing often to see what works better for you.
If you run a newsletter, you can place a subscription box on the upper left or upper right corner of your site or if you have some products to sell, you can display one or two on another space. So when your visitors come to your site, either they subscribe or buy one of your products. When any one of these actions is taken, your site is doing its job.
(2) Your Sales Page or Pre-sell Page
If you have affiliate products that you’re promoting, the best thing is to pre-sell those visitors, hence you have more chances in making sales. It’s like a personal endorsement.
If you have your own products, make use of the following:
(a) A powerful headline which catches attention and entices the visitors to read more, meaning more chances in making sales. Use quotes in your headline. They have been proven to make it more effective.
A headline like “Discover 3 Hidden Steps That You can Quickly & Easily Use to Start A Profitable Internet Business In Less Than 48 Hours” is an example of a catchy headline which can make the visitor stop dead in their tracks.
(b) Bullets to emphasize benefits of your product not features. Benefits sell. People want to know how your product can benefit them.
(c) Real testimonials from other satisfied customers. Sometimes you can get unsolicited testimonials which is good but when you don’t, a good way to get testimonials is to offer your product for FREE to experts so that they can review it and send you their feedback.
(d) A professional banner which reflects your product and any benefit that your product conveys.
(e) The use of other colors apart black. The color red catches attention, green makes you think of money, blue soothes the mind.
(f) Use sub headlines to break your mini-site sales copy into chunks of information to make it well organized and more readable.
(g) Use power words to make your sales copy more effective. Words like discover, exclusive, proven, secrets, guaranteed, limited-time, results-fast, quickly, easily etc…are simple little words that can have a dramatic influence on your sales.
(h) Give bonuses or discounts for a limited-time. Put the price of the bonuses and offer genuine discounts.
(i) Use a Post Scriptum(P.S) - This is used at the end of your sales letter to re-state the product benefits and what will happen if these people don’t order today or how your product will make their lives better.
(j) Be brave and put your own picture on your site. This seems to be rather banal but putting your photo on your site makes you more credible. Remember trust is important when doing business on the Internet. People like to know they are dealing with a real person instead of a machine.
(k) Use a clear call-to-action eg “Click here now”, “Click here now to take advantage of this limited-time offer” or “Click here now to get your discounted copy”. This is very important. Don’t expect your visitors to take action by themselves. If you have done everything right and forget about including a strong call-to-action, don’t be surprised if you see your conversion drop.
The AIDA principle
(1) Attention
(2) Interest
(3) Desire
(4) Action
should be implemented in any sales copy.
(l) State that all purchases are done securely on your site, hence inspiring trust. Include a picture of credit cards.
(m) Offer a guarantee and use a guarantee icon.
(n) Allow people to contact you by providing your personal details.
Working on your website conversion is fundamental to the success of your Internet business. Traffic without any type of action is worthless and when your conversion improves, you’ll probably get more results with the same number of traffic numbers simply because you know how to convert better.
So now, you have no excuse not to get more positive results with your search engine traffic.

Unfortunately most ‘ready-made’ business sites don’t seem to be very user or customer friendly and are extremely expensive for what is being offered. Most of these programmes have only one way to make you money, you send the traffic and they close the sale!?
However, one ‘pre-fab’affiliate marketing business, the CBMall can be highly recommended. The Premier-CBMall has 15 ways to make you money and they do virtually all of the work. You just send traffic to your unique URL.

Through search engines and directories, the Internet provides a quick and easy place to choose a local merchant or business.
Just because the Internet is worldwide doesn’t mean local businesses can’t benefit from having a website and a presence in the search engines. Realizing the benefits of local searches Google recently launched "Google Local." This feature allows searchers to enter in their zip code and search using keywords. When the results are returned they provide the address and phone number of the businesses. Google and MapQuest have partnered to provide maps and directions to the locations that are returned in the search. Yahoo, AOL and MSN also have local capabilities.

A banner exchange program is a network of websites that group together to promote each other’s website. This is a free service and to join you simply submit your website with the network.
Most banner exchanges are set up with an exchange rate of a 2 to 1 ratio. Which simply means that for every two banners your site displays, your banner will be shown on one of the other sites in the network one (1) time.

A good portion of my business involves spending hours and hours using incredibly powerful but difficult to master software to uncover thousands of the exact, targeted keyword phrases people in any given niche market are typing into the search engines.
When people new to the internet discover what I do and see the huge lists of keyword phrases and search data I uncover and compile, they often ask me what the heck it is used for.

Why Your #1 Ranking Isn’t Bringing You New Traffic
by: Courtney Heard
You’ve watched your web site grow, gain a higher PR, and more incoming links. Your ranking has steadily increased for keywords that relate to the product or service your site is selling, until finally you reach number one. You’re ecstatic! But a few days go by and traffic hasn’t increased. There are no more queries for your product or service and most importantly, no increased revenue, no return on your investment of either time or money into your web site’s search engine optimization.
Why is this? Why is it that so many web sites out there reach top positioning on the search engines and yet still see no increase in traffic? There are several reasons for this.
First, you may not be targeting keywords that your potential customers are searching for. Get into the minds of your customers, figure out what terminology they are using while on Google or Yahoo!
For example’s sake, let’s make up a fictitious service, an alternative headache healing method called “Ache-Away”. It’s simply to easy to forget that your potential customers are individuals who have more than likely, not heard of your company or your service. A number one ranking for the term “Ache-Away” may not yield very much traffic because no one is searching for it. It is more likely that phrases such as “how to get rid of a headache” or “headache remedy” are being searched for more often. This will bring you new traffic and a new clientele. You want to utilise simple, everyday language in your web site’s titles and each page’s content. Remember that the language used in your industry is not necessarily the language used to refer to your industry by people outside of it.
Do your keyword research. Tools such as Wordtracker.com will help you pinpoint the exact keywords that are searched for the most by your potential customers. Consumer language is key to making your number one ranking effective in bringing you more traffic and highly targeted traffic.
Another reason your number one ranking may not be bringing you any traffic is because the ranking is on a search engine that has very little of the search engine market. As is stands, Google, MSN and Yahoo! are the 3 main players. Some industries have consumers who use one of these search engines more than the others, as well. For instance, a top ten ranking on Yahoo! for ‘search engine optimization’ may not bring in as much traffic as a top ten ranking for the same phrase on Google, because generally speaking, consumers looking for search engine optimization have a decent idea of what it is and know that a top ten ranking for such a competitive keyword on Google is quite impressive. Basically, a large portion of people in the market for search engine optimization services will be looking for such services on Google. Alternatively, there are many industries who’s consumers predominantly use Yahoo! or MSN or even industry-specific directories.
Tools like the aforementioned Wordtracker.com have features that include showing the difference between how many times a keyword is searched for on Google as opposed to MSN or Yahoo! Utilising such services and tools will have a tremendous affect on the success of your search engine campaign.
Finally, what about the sites that are getting new traffic from their number one ranking but don’t seems to be making any sales? The largest reason for this is that those sites are not visitor friendly. Visitor friendliness is simply the most important aspect of a web site. If you site is not welcoming, understandable and easy to navigate, there is simply no point to achieving top page placement on the search engines. You want your visitors to be intrigued, to want to read on, to visit pages other than your front page. You want to be able to offer you web site visitors a wealth of information and possibly even tools. Web users want to feel they have gained something from visiting a web site and the majority of them are in a low attention span mindset. You need to capture them immediately or you’ll lose them.
Make sure you use simple language, not industry-specific jargon. Make your site clear and uncluttered. Avoid annoyances and distractions such as entrance pages, animations, and sound. Give them the goods they came for as soon as possible or they may be looking at the #2 ranked web site within minutes.
In short, the key to optimizing your number one ranking is knowing your audience. You need to know the minds of the people who are most likely to spend money once they’ve reached your web site. Not only will you get the traffic you’re looking for, but you’ll be making the sales you and experiencing a return on your search engine optimization investments.
