Marketing Power of RSS Content Syndication
by: Michelle McClory
RSS content syndication is relatively new legitimate practice in the world of search engine optimization (SEO). Marketing professionals specializing in SEO techniques are beginning to recognize the value of RSS content syndication however, and it seems that the more popular this technique becomes the more effective the results.
The value of RSS content syndication lies in the links contained within the content. This is because the big search engines like Google and Yahoo! pay a whole lot more attention to incoming links to a website than they did in the past. We’ll get to content a little later, because it still counts, but it is so important to understand why syndicating content to RSS feeds across the web may make you more money and cost you LESS!
RSS feeds are appearing on websites across the internet in order to keep people up to date with the latest news or information on a particular topic quickly. And we all know that users expect quality content, but even more so they expect that content to appear immediately! And, they want to see the content. They do not want to look for the content. They do not want to link to the content. They want the content to jump off of the screen and into their brains in 10 seconds or less!
Perhaps this is why Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, came about in the first place. It’s great news for web site owners too, however. Taking advantage of the huge variety and sheer number of RSS feeds that accept submissions from other websites provides a very cheap and simple way to develop more web site traffic and higher income.
Did I mention cheap? A minimal amount of time invested will allow you to not only provide a way for your loyal visitors to stay aware of your newest updates, but also to expand the awareness of the world about your services or products. I did mention cheap, right? Well, RSS content and article syndication allows you to spend some time preparing content in the standard XML RSS format and then to make it available to many free RSS feeds across the world.
If you have ever spent a large amount of money on an online marketing program - you already know the drawbacks of traditional internet marketing. Mass emails are no longer effective due to the increasing power of spam filters. Directory listing services are finding that their clients are removing their links due to retribution by the major search engine algorithms. And, Pay Per Click well it’s just really expensive if you intend to see real results.
With RSS syndication, you are never going to face any of these issues. If you can write an html file for your website, you can syndicate your own RSS content. The basic process is quite simple to master, and as you become more familiar your skills will expand quickly as well.
What’s even better news for web site owners? The major search engines are not only approving of RSS syndication, they are providing RSS feeds open for submission in a huge array of topic areas like sports, entertainment, world news, travel, health and technology. There is a topic for every web site owner willing to put in a little effort! And people use their sites already, so what a better place to syndicate your content?
When you place content in an RSS feed, a link appears to your web site. This is noticed by the major search engines, and helps to increase your link popularity among the search engines. Link popularity will potentially move your site up in the search engine results pages (SERPS). Combine these two facts, and you will see that no matter how you look at it, RSS syndication will get you more traffic.
It doesn’t really matter whether your additional visitors found you through an RSS feed, or if your visibility and increased link popularity allowed them to find you through a major search engine! Think about that, and you are sure to see the true benefit of RSS content.
There’s that word again “Content.” RSS content is different from what you might normally expect in an SEO campaign. The reason that most web sites containing RSS feeds put them there in the first place is to provide extra information for their visitors.
Think about it, if you publish a web site geared towards IT professionals you might be providing content that is of a fairly specific nature. You may be giving information, tutorials or even advertising for a certain software package. Although this information is important to a large majority of the visitors who click on your link, some visitors may be more interested in a different area of the IT field.
Providing an RSS feed that displays the latest in the world of IT news may be a great answer. If the information found in your RSS feed is quality and relative to your visitors’ interests, they will bookmark your site. Then they will COME BACK!
But what does that mean to you as the RSS syndicated content provider? It means that you will need to produce quality content - because it’s your content that keeps the users coming back to the original site. As long as your content is quality, and you remain a part of that RSS feed, you will see increased new and return visitors.
And generating traffic is the largest goal of an SEO campaign, so why wouldn’t you want to syndicate quality content for RSS feeds? This simple and inexpensive method of marketing your website is gaining popularity, and becoming visible now as a content provider will only mean greater returns in the future.

In my last newsletter I wrote about how your websites Alexa rating is not actually that important to the success of your online business. In this issue, I want to look at another popular statistic - Google Page Rank - and ask a similar question - is it that important?
First a quick overview as to what the Google Page Rank actually is…

Directories are the best means for getting related links and targeted traffic. There are a huge number of directory sites present all over the world. Some of them are less useful to users. We need to judge the quality of directory sites before submitting our site to that directory. Some of the directories even charge a good amount, so we need to be very careful before investing our money in the directories. The different types of criteria on which we can judge a directory are as follows:-

The Absolute Best Way To Get 1,000’s Of Targeted Visitors To Your Web Site!
by: Dan Farrell
Have you been trying to get more visitors or prospects to your web site with little to show?
I know what you are going through as I’ve tried them all and then some
)
- Link exchanges
- Classified Ads
- Ezine Publishing
- Ezine Ad Purchases
- Auto Surf Programs
- Pay Per Clicks
- Etc Etc Etc!
But until I started doing one thing, I was wasting a ton of time and money.
What is the one thing?
Article Submission!
But you say, “I’m not a writer”. That is ok because I’m going to show you how you can get 100’s of articles in 40 different topics that you can use as if you wrote them!
Legally too
)
This is one of the best kept secrets, submitting articles without paying for a ghost writer or spending hours researching, compiling, writing and submitting your articles.
Here is my 1-2-3 system that takes less than 1/2 hour to submit a fresh article as my own.
1. I use InfoGoRound that has 1000’s of articles (100-200 articles added every month).
I enter the keyword I want an article in and the search box gives me a list of articles to choose. After reading the articles of interest I select the one I want to use. Most times I change the headline and some of the body so that it is different and will be viewed as truly my own.
I write the resource or bio info. This is 4-5 lines of where I want the readers to go for more information on one of my sites, or an affiliate site.
It is usually something like:

__________________________________
This takes 10-15 minutes.
2. I take this modified article to SubmitYourArticle which submits it to 100’s of the top article directories, ezines and other article web sites. They allow 8 per month and I find that to be more than enough to attract visitors.
3. I add the article to an appropriate web site, post it to a blog, and add it to one of my lists.
I have seen my Google Page Rank increase from 2-4 and 2-3 on many sites and this site from 3 to 6 and my Alexa rating drop by over 100,000, after 1 month!
The bottom line is that you don’t have to spend hours submitting articles and creating fresh content for your web sites or lists. Other than the fees for InfoGoRound and SubmitYourArticle (which both have an affiliate program so you can easily pay for them out of your commission) article submission is the best way to attract 1,000’s of targeted prospects to your web site or affiliate site.

Google is the undisputed heavyweight champion of search engines. Most SEO (search engine optimization) companies pitch their tent around Google. Apart from being the king of search engines, unlike Yahoo and MSN, Google does not serve sponsored results on top of its search results, drawing away considerable attention/traffic away from the search results. Hence ranking high with Google is worth all the trouble it takes to get there. Little wonder then, that most SEO revolves round Google. When Google sneezes, the SEO world catches cold. When Google tweaks its search algorithms, SEO experts scamper back to the trenches to gaze at their crystal ball, to figure out what Google is up to.

Are you sale-orineted?
by: Robert Nixon
Are you sale-oriented? Is your website ’sales-oriented’?
Both of these are the same since your website is YOU as far as your visitors are concerned.
All the prospect is looking for is the ‘best’ deal for their investment when they visit your website. They have already made up their mind to purchase the type of product you have on your site. They have already taken the first step by looking for you and entering your website. Now it is all up to you to make the sale.
The benefits of the product determine if the prospect will purchase it, if it is with-in the prospects ‘price range’. How you relate these benefits to them will determine if you make the sale or not. Where many fail is by not having ‘qualification’ questions on their site, or listing the amount of benefits the prospect will get for certain levels of investment. Sometimes the benefits are so good the cost will not matter. They will want it so bad they will pay anything within reason.
Simply state the facts ( an example follows ):
For $ 25.00 you get so and so.
For $ 50.00 you get so and so plus so and so.
Save money by getting five of our $25.00 products ( a $25.00 savings, or discount ) for only $100.00 Save money by getting six of our $50.00 products ( a $100.00 savings, or discount ) for only $200.00
If you think you will be able to ‘convert’ someone that gets a ‘free’ sample, or something else at no cost from you, then you must be very confident in your salesmanship ability to do so.
Here the Free sample must do all the selling for you.
I do not careless about all my ‘free’ sign ups in my associate programs, I just don’t waste my time with them other than sending them a monthly or bi-monthly e-mail reminding them of their status. Some people use auto responders to do this and is a good idea if you get a lot. I feel that it is up to the free sign up themselves to take the next step. The best method is to limit their ‘Free’ access for a certain time period and notify them about the expiration. Once that time has past, take them off the books and move on, or give them something for Free with no strings attached. Another way that I have found is to keep them coming back to my site to use the Free something. At the least they will be exposed to my other offers at the site page they visit if they visit it on a regular basis.
Residual income is where someone pays you X amount on a regular basis instead of X for a one time sale.
Residual income is what you want to get and there are several ways to go about this.
Here is where the benefits will out weigh the cost. The great thing is that you can charge whatever you think the traffic will bear, within reason, of course.. Do not make any false promises or guarantee results. You may also never know if they use the product correctly. To solve this, send them, or publish an instruction sheet on proper use, handling and cautions. ( A disclaimer would be wise too ).
1. If they are purchasing a product they can get via shipment or download, then a one time charge is in order. You have to have a product that will generate a lot of this type of sale to make an income however. You can still get repeat purchases if the product has a ’shelf life’.
2. Have an optional levels of entry for monthly membership programs with ‘up-grade’ options. Here the best method is to get as a high a initial investment with a low time related fee to continue at the level they want to purchase. What you are doing here is getting a ‘down payment’, and what they are getting is a discount for giving you one.
For instance:
Become a Pro member for only $20.00 a month.
Become a Lifetime Pro member for only $100.00 plus a $25.00 yearly renewal fee after your first year.
You save over $100.00 your first year and over $200.00 every year thereafter as long as you renew.
( If you fail to re-new you will have to start over, however ).
Become a Lifetime Gold member by up-grading your present Gold status for only XXX. ( you get the idea ).
The cost of the investment will determine the prospects level of interest but you must always deliver what you promise.
3. Have a ’service’ contract. In business you may sell a tangible product that may be in need of service on a regular basis, such as changing the filter, etc.
Have the prospect pay for timely delivery of the item just before the time of servicing is due. This can be done again by using one of the methods mentioned above or a combination thereof.
Example:
You work for a company that offers yearly service contracts, on re-fundable of course. The clients get X amount normal service calls (they must give at least 24 to 48 hours notice) for X amount charged a year. Additional fees are only charged for emergency, off hour or off day request (weekends or holidays).
4.Have options like types of ’support’ for each level. ( Do not confuse this with the above service calls )
Example:
Lowest level gets free 24 hour response via e-mail only. But can get personal support by calling X for X amount of dollars for X amount of time, during normal business hours.
Mid-level gets free 24 hour response via e-mail and personal support by calling X ( a different number than the lowest level gets) either free or at a reduced rate ( if reduced tell them how much they save).
Highest level gets….well you get the idea.
5. Offer advertisements
Yes, you own your own business and you can offer advertisements on your site too. If you use a lot of banners, then one of their options should be a banner type also. Remember the prime locations for banners are the top, the bottom, the left and right sides in that order. Make the cost also relational to the size. If you use text advertisements as an option or additional option, then the amount of lines or the word count should determine the cost. NEVER let them have the top banner unless it is on a ’sub-page’ of your site. When someone visits YOUR site they will be confused if they don’t see you at the first thing they look at, and that will be the top center of the page. The second thing they will see is the top left, then they will start scrolling down the page looking for what they came to find.
Always respect your prospects and existing clients. Treat those that get the lowest plan the same as those that get the highest with courtesy and be professional. Be happy they have called or contacted you and let them know. Who knows? That ‘lowest level’ member may become so happy with your service, assistance or performance FOR THEM, that they may up-grade for that reason alone.

Dear friends,
Google AdSense has rapidly gained a status of an independent online business model. Many average people with a little knowledge of HTML are earning a fortune with AdSense.
The AdSense comes under the category of “pay per click affiliate” programs. This means you get paid when someone click on the ad which resides on your website.

Like all things, theft is theft, misery loves company, negative people are everywhere, business is sometimes bad, things go up and others go down.
If those are all true then knowledge is power right? Wrong, knowledge is only power if applied. So why is it that most of us only apply “commercialized” marketing tactics and fail to utilize the little stuff that counts?
For instance, Google allows us to promote 2 url’s, www.yoursite.com & http://yoursite.com
So ok. Nothing new…
