For the first few months after Yahoo decided to go their own way with natural search (and MSN decided to get serious about the search business), the search results provided by those two could only be described as bizarre. Enough time has now passed that the dust has somewhat settled and there are three main (from a traffic standpoint) sites for quality natural searches.

You probably have already heard about the new marketing tool from Google.com on the Internet. Their advertising service is called "Adwords" and allows you use Google.com for marketing. Your ads will be displayed on Google’s website when people initiate a search. Your ads can also be displayed very targeted among many thousand websites that partner with Google in a program called "Google AdSense". Adwords is the Google.com version of a pay-per-click advertising model. That means users click on your ad and will be redirected to your website or a specific URL that you have selected when creating your ad campaign.

I, myself, being an internet marketing "newbie" (endearing term used to refer to people who have just started their own internet business and don’t know what the —- they are doing) have learned a few things and would like to share my observations, tribulations, and triumphs with my fellow "newbies". In sharing my experiences I hope I can help you avoid some of the pitfalls and obstacles you will face. Let’s try to avoid some of those "Information Overload" headaches as well. I don’t want you to walk through the same mud puddle if I can point it out and help you avoid it.

Need a fresh idea for your e-zine content? Do an interview!
One of the many benefits of being an e-zine publisher is that you’ll have no trouble finding experts who will take a few minutes to talk with you. People love free publicity and are generally delighted to get in front of your readers.
But don’t assume doing an interview requires an in-person meeting or even a phone date. While those are great, you can also just do an e-mail interview. Once you learn how to do these and realize how easy they are, you’ll do them all the time.

Perhaps you still don’t realize or fully understand the power of RSS Feeds as a marketing tool.
After all, email works fine, doesn’t it?
Unfortunately, the truth is:
1. It’s getting harder to send e-mails to the prospect’s inbox because of SPAM filters
2. People are getting numbed by the amount of e-mails they receive everyday
3. People are not reading their e-mails
4. It’s getting harder to get people to opt-in or subscribe to your newsletter or content.

The number one problem new website owners have is, “How do I drive targeted traffic to my website?”
A significant amount of time and energy is spent on this single task. A webmaster will commonly focus on:
- Ranking well in the search engines
- Pay Per Click (PPC) programs
- Pay Per View (Banner) programs
- Link Exchanges
- Directory Submissions
- etc.
All of these methods are viable means of getting traffic. In fact, if you’re lucky or competent enough to rank well for your keywords in the search engines, you’ll find that you get a very large portion of traffic to your website.

I just reviewed a new website and I’m in shock. Or, maybe, I’m just depressed about my failure to convince people to do what I tell them so they can make money.
I’m not talking about complicated marketing strategies. Most websites, marketing and the like, fail on the basic stuff.
For example, this webmaster wants to sell products. He wants to make money online. He’s got a bunch of good products at great prices. I know this because he told me. No one else knows this after visiting his website. He’s kept it a secret.

Search engine spiders read and record page titles first. Here are five tips on how you can get the search engine spiders to read your titles and use them in their optimization process:
1. Character count is important: Google’s maximum character count for page titles is 83. Yahoo’s maximum character count is 111.
2. Don’t use filler words like: and, for, the. They are dropped anyway by the search engines.
