Whats on YOUR Subscriber Thank-You Page?

When I coach my clients on how to get more business from their e-zines, I’m delighted to see that they spend time on creating content that builds a relationship with their readers. But I see many of these publishers overlooking the very beginning of their valuable relationship with their subscribers. For example, the “thank-you” page. If I sign up for your e-zine at your site, where am I taken afterwards? I hope it’s not a page that only says something vague like “form received” or even worse, nothing, leaving me wondering whether my signup was successful. Create a thank-you page where new signups go to right after they complete the form. On this page, be sure to:

  • Thank me for signing up!

    Why Use RSS?

So why use RSS? Well, I can find a whole lot of reasons why. Although I’m not technically inclined I do understand the power behind syndication. Anyone who watches television can get that idea. Still why would I want to use RSS for my viral marketing campaign? Well, let’s look at what some of the "experts" are saying.

Drive HUGE Amounts of Traffic to Your Website for FREE

Would you like to get in on one the Internet’s biggest secrets to getting visitors to your website for free?

One of the biggest secrets on the internet that many of the big-hitter “gurus” use to drive traffic to their website is to write articles and add their signature line at the bottom, which includes their website address. When people read the article, the last thing they see is the author’s signature and website address. This gives the reader a place to go to get more information. And that, in turn, drives visitors to your website. Plus, by listing your website address in the signature line, the search engines will start to index your website, which improves your ranking.

    Got one? Two? Three?

If you have competitors, then you should have at least one Unique Selling Proposition (USP). The more REAL ones you have, the better - for your Branding, your business recognition, and your sales!

We all have competitors, and the more you have, the more important it is that you have a Unique Selling Proposition (at least one).

    Link Popularity Pitfalls

As we all know Google uses their PageRank technology to measure link popularity by counting the number of inbound links to your web pages, and it is one of the many factors influencing your ranking. Most website owners do not utilize properly what PageRank they already have. Their linking campaigns could be in vain if they let a large number of outbound links drain their existing PageRank. If their site were a bucket it would be full of holes, to illustrate this point, if you had a large number of outbound links, which are not reciprocated it would reduce your overall PageRank. Be diligent in identifying sites that are no longer linking back to you anymore. Also keep in mind putting more than 50 outbound links on any page is not advisable. Also be wary of sites that link to you from pages with more than 50 outbound links. Google’s PagerRank is based on incoming links, but not only on the number of them. Instead PageRank is also based on the PageRank of the page on which your link is placed. For example a link to your site could be more valuable from a PR4 page with no other links than a link from a page with PR5 and 60 other links.

    Kaizen in Online Marketing

Many people throughout the life of online marketing have utilized the use of Kaizen. As a matter of fact I would venture a guess that almost all successful businesses in today’s markets are using it. Which leaves one to wonder, what is Kaizen? Well, to put it in a layman’s words it is the practice of continuous improvement; the fact that we should never be satisfied with what we have, and instead always press onwards to improve what we have to something better.

11 Extraordinary Ways To Expand Your Subscriber List

Here are 11 ways to expand your subscriber list:

    1. Use a conversational writing tone. It makes a connection. Yet, don’t get lax on the grammar and spelling. Use personal pronouns (I, me, you and your). Limit the percentage of I’s to half or less of the yous.

    2. Spread the knowledge even further by asking your readership to forward a copy of your ezine to family members, friends, colleagues, or co-workers. Create a “please forward this ezine to” line or two. Give them an incentive, offer a free but-not-free item. This can be challenging to design.
